Hello,
I know this is a common problem..but I have yet to find something that works. My wifi works great, full signal when I am at home. It won't connect to any other networks anywhere else though. It can find them, and they show they have a signal, but it won't connect. This only started about a month ago. I was able to connect to my work's wireless network and a friend's network just fine. Work network does not require a password, friend's does..but I have not changed anything since the first time I entered the password and saved it earlier this year. (My iphone is even having the very same problem..works fine at home, but no where else.)

The airport icon in the menu bar shows a signal when I have the ethernet line plugged in. As soon as the ethernet is disconnected the icon changes to an exclamation mark. When I click on the icon for the pull down menu of networks, my preferred network is checked.

A few minutes ago, I copied the IP address shown in the ethernet network preferences and went to the airport and changed Configure IP4 to Using DHCP with manual address and then pasted the IP address there. Now I have a green light by airport (it was yellow and saying it had a self-addressed IP) and it says it has an IP address and is connected. I thought maybe it is working now and unplugged the ethernet line, only to have the exclamation mark pop up again.

If anyone has any suggestions, it would be most greatly appreciated.
