My iPhone 4 wifi is definitely defective. Previously I just thought it was a bit weak, but a friend could connect to a network easily which my iPhone can't see, and this problem is absolutely persistent (i.e. with a variety of different public and private networks).

Have reinstalled and updated. No luck.

It's still under warranty; can anyone recommend if I should send it back, or would it be worth waiting until the 5 comes out...?

If its under warranty, talk to Apple and get a replacement.

Is it worth waiting for the 5 to come out (which seems imminent, and I can live with the wifi problem for a bit) or do they only ever offer like-for-like replacements?
