Wifi Hotspot & iPhone

I've been on Android for the last 2 years. The wifi Hotspot feature is awesome. Blazingly fast. I remember my last iPhone experience in this regard was very unpleasant. Hard to connect, losing connection all the time. Not fun. Is the wifi Hotshot feature any better now? Thnx.

Are you sure about that?
What iphone model where you using and on what ios version?
Cause we all been enjoying the personal hotspot feature for years with no issues. Usually its androids that have a very bad user experience in general...

No hotspot issues here. iOS 6 - 8gm.

I was using it on my iPhone 5 without any problems up until a couple of weeks ago when I sold it.

Apparently Apple uses a different protocol with their hotspot feature. With Android it's a WiFi hotspot but with Apple it was a 'device' hotspot. I used every phone except the 5S and I always had problems. My PS3 could never connect. It's very important for business reasons (not the PS3, duh) that my WiFi feature work perfectly. With Android I never had an issue.

I've used the Hotspot with both the 4S and 5S. No problems. Worked well the a LG running some version of Android, my MBP and my parents iPad Air.

I moved home a couple months back and had no net, so I used the iPhone 4 as a hotspot with my iMac for the first time.

Couldn't believe how quick it was, just stunning.

Was also quick at burning my data

Have an iphone 5. It works with my desktop, however , it does NOT work with my xbox one.
