lol

(before OP edited post he said "what's the best app for a wifi hot spot, I don't want to tether")

Edit: mywi if you want to pay, pdanet has a free edition with wifi capabilities as well.

Though I personally feel its a rip off, the best choice is MyWi. Though its 20 bucks, and if you have more than one person connected it gets pretty slow. If you want, TetherMe is great to (and only 2 bucks), but you need to be connected via your USB charging cord to the device for it to work.

Which is probably the best considering the battery is saved while connected to your macbook. However, not gonna cut it for us that just want to share wifi with our iPad.

Which is totally unrelated to MyWi. How many people do you think an iPhone and a 3G connection can support?

False. BT also works.

Then use the iTether and TetherMe combination and use BT from your iPad.
