after upgrading to mac os Sequia I have a wifi issue I can only use wifi from my iphone hotspot, I tried connecting to my home wifi it doesn't work, even though my home wifi I connect to my iphone and windows laptop is running smoothly.

I'm having the same issue here. It's only broken in Safari (and possibly other Apple apps). If I open Chrome or Firefox, web sites load fine.

Can you try the same? See if the issue is only in Safari.

No idea what the "fix" is, but it's obnoxious and driving me bonkers.

Edit:

I've ruled out Private Relay, it's turned off.

I've ruled out the new Wifi Private Wi-Fi Address thing as it is turned off along with Limit IP Address Tracking. However, this feature is turned _on_ at my parents house and I don't believe the issue is happening there, just my home network, which is all Ubiquiti based with an EdgeRouter and a Unifi access point. At my parents it's just a bog standard consumer wifi unit from DLink or something like that.

I have forgotten the network multiple times and re-joined, no changes.

I also do not have any ad-blockers in the browser, just 1Password and Save to Readwise. Though at home I do have a Pi-Hole setup. So I guess that's another avenue of testing I can do.

Next thought is DNS issue? Can "ping" and resolve web site hosts?
If it's the same issue I'm having, everything loads fine in Chrome, just not Safari. So, I'd make the assumption that it's not a DNS issue.

I can't test since I'm not at home and for me the issue is weirdly intermittent at times. It gave me trouble yesterday when I upgraded for a little bit, then went away, then came back again this morning.

Actually, I have it happening at my parents house at the moment, so it's not network specific.

Can confirm, macrumors is not loading in safari and i get the "Page could not be loaded" error. If I open it in Chrome, it works perfectly fine. Meanwhile, all other apps, including Teams continues to work and after about a minute or two, Safari starts working again.

Absolutely bizarre. It's like something in Safari is broken, not in the wifi side of things like OP is thinking it is. I'd really like if @Dhalif can come back and chime in to confirm whether the issue he's experiencing is the same as what I am seeing. I'm shutting up now until he does since I don't want to flood this thread with a different issue.

I am having the same problem with wifi connections and Safari on my iMac Pro running Sequoia. The issue did not exist on Sonoma. I had to shut off wifi and revert to a wired connection to the router. I hope Apple recognizes the problem that some of us are having.

You could try flushing the DNS cache ...

I had this exact issue. Using FIXED or OFF (whichever iteration you prefer), then Renewing DHCP lease helped work it out for me.

It still drops occasionally but I don’t have to manually reconnect any more.

Just kidding, 6 hours later and my WiFi keeps dropping on my laptop.

Also my iPhone battery now drains really fast.

wtf is this ****? i just upgrade and my connection is on 10mbps from my normal 200. LOL. Time to restore to Sonoma. gtfo from my mac.

in your network settings -> wifi -> detail try turning off wifi6e if your router somehow supports it (it will only show up if your own device and wifi router support it).

This. Do you have a Netgear router that supports 6E or 7? Turn off Automatic 6E on your Mac (and phone/iPad etc.). It's broken, it will flip to 5G cellular and stay there - and in the case of a Mac without cell capability, no wifi at all. Miy devices won't last a day with 6E on.

Those that have the problem, what mfr and model is your router?
