MBP 16" 2019, I get 50/50 working WiFi after wake up, it is in connected state but "no internet" picture. Off-on doesn't help, forget this network and find again doesn't help too, only hard reboot helps. I asked out local IT and they say it is typical for Sequoia.

Any ideas?

I had the same issue a few years back, and I took it to Apple but they said they couldn't help😅. I changed internet providers and it started to work. Maybe older Macs get unsupported???

I guess these things come with age🖥️. Hope you find the solution!

I didn't change anything but OS version. Provider, router and WiFi settings are the same and it worked good with previous MacOS 14.

How old is router? Does it still get firmware updates? Support latest Wi-Fi protocol?
Local IT? hmmm. ISP?
Try placing laptop near router.
Turning modem and router off for 5 minutes AND unplugged.
I'd consider buying a new router.

I was running Sequoia on an Intel 2020 MBA and now on a 2024 MBP. Absolutely no issues at all connecting to WiFi and internet

"Maybe older macs get unsupported" - what? To WiFi or internet? No.

I wonder if you have MAC address scrambling enabled - which is newish in Sequoia. If you have your router configured to limit devices by MAC address then you've configured your router to block access to your macbook each time its MAC address changes.

Either change your router config or turn off 'private Wi-Fi address" in network settings.

My router is the same age as MacBook - 2019. It is a corporate laptop with some security and VPN software installed. I read somewhere it can be a reason but don’t know how to fix. Only reboot helps.

Well, just changed private WiFi address to fixed. Let's see how if it helped.

However, as I wrote earlier I can connect to WiFi itself, but can’t get any traffic.

Does Bluetooth work, but not the WiFi? Go to System Settings<About<System Report<Hardware<Bluetooth<Chipset: Does it begin with BCM? If Bluetooth is working but WiFi is not, it is probably because Apple has been "obsoleting" the Broadcom chipsets. Before you despair: Manually delete Wi-Fi network entries in macOS: Go to System Settings, select Wi-Fi, click on Details next to the network you want to remove, and choose "Forget This Network." Create a new WiFi network profile. If you cannot turn on WiFi at all (if it's greyed-out like mine) then the Broadcom has been "obsoleted" and you may want to buy a USB WiFi dongle. Good luck.

This may be a long shot, but check in your iCloud settings to see if Private Relay was turned on when you updated. This happened to me and slowed my Internet to a crawl. As soon as I turned it off everything was fine.

Well, a week with internal mac setting is OFF and didn't catch the issue. Seems like it helped. However, I noticed the same setting in my Adroid phone is ON and everything is OK. Maybe a newer router will fix it for both?
