I bought one of the new dual-band AirPort Extreme base stations today, and it connected to both of my MacBooks and my ThinkPad perfectly. My 2G iPod touch, however, is constantly having issues. It started with outright refusal to connect to the base station after entering its password, but it finally stopped doing that. However, even now with the iPod connected to the base station, the connection is either painfully slow or non-existant (169.x.x.x IP address). Any ideas? This iPod has worked fine with my previous LinkSys and Buffalo APs and when using my MacBook's AirPort card as an AP via internet sharing.

I find it ridiculous that these two products from the same manufacturer can't get along in such a simple manner. In addition to this, my Wii can't even see the base station (and manually entering everything doesn't work, ugh). If I can't get this resolved quickly, I'm thinking about just returning it and getting something $100 cheaper that actually works (and I'm an Apple afficianado through-and-through).

Firmware is up-to-date on everything involved, MAC filtering is off, I'm using WPA/WPA2 Personal, split 802.11a/n and 802.11b/g, SSID is being broadcasted, and so on.

I'll be calling Apple within the next few days, but thought I'd inquire all of you to see if it might be a known issue and hopefully an easy fix.
