Hey everyone,

I have a 2012 15'' MBP. I am in college. In my dorm room, there is an Ethernet port in the wall. I have this hooked up to a Netgear wireless router. Everything works fine, except that often when I am connected to my Wifi network browsing the internet, the internet will die and I will have no connection. I turn wifi off from my task bar and turn it back on, it reconnects to my network, and internet is fine again until it happens again. It seems to happen at random. I have tried rebooting my computer, resetting DHCP lease, and restarting my router. I have been avoiding doing a hard reset of my router and reconfiguring it because I have several wireless devices like a printer connected that I would have to set up again, and I don't really have the time for that these days.

I'm not sure whether it's my school's internet network, my computer, or my router. I have a hunch that it's my router, as I also have trouble running a working DLNA server on my computer to my smart TV consistently, and a lot of times I have to restart my wireless printer to get my computer to find it. It's just that the router settings are unchanged from last year, where I had an identical room and devices.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
