I have a macBook pro. Locally the chamber of commerce provides free wifi that I receive from my house. It has been pretty good. There are two location
nodes that I can pick up, one is weak, it's further away. The other is close and usually a lot stronger. These have been available for a year and a half. The week before last something changed. When I am logged into the closer stronger signal I am knocked off line every five minutes, and have to log in again. I have tried again and again, but the problem seems to be chronic. ironically I do not have the problem with the weaker node but I have terrible reception. I spoke to the wifi master and he told me that some of my neighbors who's user names I recognize were on line for extended periods, one of whom i know has a mac emac, the others are pc. The wifi master is stumped. I did receive a security update lately, and i suspect it could be related, but why can I get the weaker signal without the bump off. I hope someone has some insight into this because I love my free wifi.
