MBP late 2011, El Capitan

Hi,
Out of nowhere my wifi stopped working, My OS is up to date. I tried resetting NVRAM.

I have to use ethernet cable to connect to internet.
Is there anything else I can do, why would this error happen out of nowhere?

Electronic components can fail at any time. It sounds like your Airport/Bluetooth board might have failed. Here is a step-by-step guide for replacing a Airport/Bluetooth board. I picked instructions for a 15" since no screen size was provided.

Any chance to boot up from a previous OS to rule out a El Capitan issue before replacing hardware?
