Hi all, I'm experiencing terrible battery drain on my AW series 4 40mm and I wonder if having wifi on at all times makes anyy difference.

This morning right after I removed my watch from the charger it went down to 99%, like less than 3 mins after I unplugged it, then only one 1 and 15 mins down to 97% without doing anything, only checking the time. I dont know whether this is normal or not.

I have to mention heart rate sensor is disabled as well as background refresh.

Why don't you try it?

But depending on what the alternative, it might use more battery. E.g. if you have an activated LTE model. But if the alternative is no connection, then it likely might save you some battery, but then your watch is not connected and loses most of its functionality.

I also have an S4 40mm with poor battery life. I have also disabled automatic workout detection. I also removed location access to clock app on iPhone, it solved the sync problems I where constantly having.

Watch doesn’t turn on WiFi unless it loses Bluetooth cxn to watch.

So if you’re spending a lot of time away from your phone that might draw more on the battery.

As above why not just try it yourself and see.

I’m seeing roughly similar battery life on my S5 as I had on my S4 so I’ve not seen a need to turn off core functionality
