I'm not able to try this out right now, but question : if I have my iPhone on me, activate hotspot, will the phone share GPS info with the iPad Pro (wifi model)? So google maps/apple maps will be able to direct me?

I do frequent road trips, and the idea of having a nice large screen to use as a gps could be pretty awesome. I got the wifi model because the store had no LTE models left, but just curious about that choice now.

I did this for the longest time, but got fed up of intermittent GPS drops. I just took the plunge and bought the LTE model, which is absolutely robust in every way for road trip nav.

Edit: Think about it as buying an advanced GPS unit for $129, with the iPad you paid base for.
