WiFi Question

Hey All-

I just moved into an apt and I get internet provided by the building... but I can only get it in my room... and in the living room hardly...

is there anything I can buy to boost my receiver strength in my mac book??
ie: external antenna ? or anything?

You could get a router and set it up (in your room) as a repeater.

A repeater catches the wi-fi signal and then re-distributes it.

You need a WDS (wireless distribution system).

I don't personally have experience using one, but I have heard that these work best when used within the same brand. If you can find out what brand router the apt is using, you will want to purchase the same brand WDS if possible.

so if you plug in the airport... it will just take the signal automatically...

and repeat it?
