Hi! I currently own two Apple AirPort Extremes and a Rosewill Ethernet Bridge. One AirPort Extreme functions as the main router, while the other acts as bridge connected wirelessly in a downstairs room. The Rosewill Ethernet Bridge is connected via Ethernet from the main AE and is in the Home Theater room. I want to redo my network, since my AE's aren't really getting the throughput I want. I am planning on replacing my main router, and connecting two bridges through wired ethernet. The two bridges will have four LAN ports and also extend the WiFi Network. Any advice on which routers to buy for my needs ? I want to stream media, AirPlay music, and all that good stuff. Any and all advice is welcome
If you are planning on using multiple routers, you will need to be able to change the settings on the routers.
You will need to make sure to change the IP addresses of each router so that they do not have use the same IP address. On the routers that will simply be Access Points, you will need to disable the DHCP Server so that only the main Wireless Router will be the DHCP Server.
