Any ideas why I only get 1-2 wifi signal bars? I just recently upgraded to the Netgear Nighthawk R6700 (AC1750) and am using the AC band (5gHz).

Using an app called Wifi Explorer, I can see that my signal strength is actually at 97%....

So It leads me to believe that ios8 is just reporting incorrect signal strength...

Does anyone here have the same issue?

Thanks!

You know what.....I've been assuming that the dots to the left represented the wifi signal strength...I feel so dumb now lol

Haha no those are cellular signal strength. Even if your WiFi bars showed 2 though, there's a good reason. Most devices show the signal to noise ratio, or SNR, so you could have a high signal level, but if there's lots of noise or interference it would show a lower quality signal.

Yeah now for the next project you need to figure out why you only have 1 bar of cellular service. That will wreak havoc on battery life too. ;)
