Is is possible to share the iphone's wifi connection using terthering or can you only share the cellular network?

Imagine you are at the airport. You iPhone is only picking up an edge signal but is picking up free wifi because of your iPhone contract.

You cannot use the free wifi with your laptop because it is not your iPhone.

Now if you think about it there IS a need to tether the wifi!!

I need this too. You can do it with PDANet but I was really hoping not to have to jailbreak my 3GS.

As well as free wi-fi for iPhone locations, Boingo Mobile gives you unlimited access worldwide. Regular Boingo for a laptop charges internationally.

So, anyone figure out how to tether wi-fi?
