Hello,

I did some searching and concluded in should work, but would like confirmation before I spend the money.

Outside my new apartment there is free public wifi that I can pickup if I'm in by the window. I'd like to extend this signal so I can use my devices in my bedroom. To access the wifi user must login with a username and password (Not sure what kind of security this is, seems similar to my university). Due to the username/password authentication a simple wifi extender will not work.

I have an old powerbook g4 with osx 10.5 (The last generation g4 1.67ghz) laying around that I planned on using as a bridge. The plan is to use one wifi adapter to connect to the wifi network and using the built in osx internet sharing feature to share the connection to the second wifi adapter.

I know normally with the built in airport this is not possible. But with the additional wifi adapter I dont see why this wouldn't work. What do you guys think?

Also would it be correct in saying the OSX internet share function works as a NAT? So devices connected will receive an IP address from the mac not the access point?
