Dear all,
I recently had need to expand my wireless network to cover a new office addition in which my g4 powerbook is placed. I bought a Linksys brand repeater to compliment my cisco/linksys router and the device is properly configured and broadcasting a strong signal.
Airport on my MPB, however, does not automatically connect to the access point on my WLAN with the strongest signal (the repeater) for whatever reason, and no third party software has enabled me to do anything other than ping the stronger ap's MAC address on the network. Is there anyway I can connect to the repeater by entering its MAC address? The internet connect app seems to be user friendly to a fault.
Also the network is secured.
I have, on one or two occasions, been able to connect to the repeater, but it was due to luck only (the main router loses touch with airport sporadically and if I am lucky enough to click the connect button during one of these drops I can get the repeater until my mpb scans for networks again.) This is unreliable and frustrating.
What should I do?
Thanks for your help,
D
