Theres a automatic jailbreak in installer that does the 1.1.3 jailbreak and adds the 5 apps from the iPhone at the same time, though the source that its in doesn't come standard so you'll have to add it manually... Forgot where I seen that though...

I am pretty sure using these means you've jailbroken with an iPhone firmware. So stuff like Google Maps Locate Me doesn't work properly on the touch.
I think the safest bet is to jailbreak with the right firmware for the device, so the iPod touch thinks it's an iPod touch (and not an iPhone, with carrier logo, etc.)
And then activate the apps by buying them for $20.
I have a jailbroken 1.1.3 from the ipodtouchmasters repository and Locate Me works just fine. Found my house through the wi-fi network database in seconds.
