my Second 2018 mbp 15 inch has a loose Touch ID sensor. Can’t recall my first one having this issue. Is the normal? Anyone able to check?

I don't have a 2018 model, but on my 2017 MacBook Pro the TouchID button is very solid. There is a tiny, I mean tiny, amount of wiggle but under normal use you'd never notice it.

If you have a significant amount of wiggle/wobble coming from the TouchID sensor button I'd personally take it back to Apple, and compare it to other machines on display. It shouldn't be loose enough to have a noticeable "wobble".

to give you guys a better description.. if I put my finger on it and move it left and right it makes a click sound as it hits the edges of its housing.

If it's enough of a wiggle I'd reach out to Apple to see if a replacement would be any better. No reason to spend $3k+and have a button be loose. I don't think there is any issue with it being slightly loose, but that's a matter of personal preference. It'd bug me.

Is it a button? Mine does not seem to move at all. More like a Android phone sensor that just read fingerprints.

Or maybe people think it is a button and are pressing on it expecting it to move. You just need to rest your finger on it.

It is a power button, if you shut down your MBP while is opened, press the button and will boot back.
