Hi. Is it possible to play Wii/xBox games through my Macbook Pro and a data projector? I have NO idea how to go about this, and I don't have a TV. Thanks.

You need a capture device to plug your console to.

For example the "elgato" ones. Look for Elgato VideoCapture

Pinnacle has some other products as well.

But probably there will be some lag and if you want to play in HD you have to prepare a good amount of money.

you mean using an emulator? and connecting that to a projector or just playing mac versions of wii/xbox games with the projector as the display medium?

No, I thought you want to play your Wii or Xbox in your Macbook display.

And for that you need a capture device ( usually plugged to your MBP using USB )

MBP doesnt have any video input port, so you need another hardware to do that

Wii/xBox through my mac.

Thanks for all four quick responses, and especially TopHatPlus for the link. Aeboi - I didn't know there were Mac versions, so will look into that. It's all more complicated than I thought (I thought I could just plug the xBox into my laptop - shows I don't know what I'm talking about!). There is stuff here I don't understand (MPB? avi? hdmi?) so I think I'll have to ask my nephew!!!
Thanks again, annyo.
