Seems there is a real, dangerous trojan running around facebook. Does this pose a serious security threat for a brain-endowed person?

But if it is doing some kind of chmod type thing, would it not have to authenticate? I run as a regular user, how could it disable system-wide security without getting my permission?

Read your own link. Sophos, a computer security company reports that Microsoft analyzed this thing and claimed that it is serious. O-o-o-u, I'm scared.

It can't unless you allow it to (by giving it an admin password). Seems to me that this is FUD on Microsoft's part.
