Wildcard Subdomains on Mac....with xampp.

Has anybody managed to enable wildcard subdomains on their mac? i have been trying for days to get it work, but i am having no luck :(

i am using xampp and need to have wildcard domains for a php app i am working on that lets users have their own url to the application ie... devan.webappname.com

ive been browsing through google for hours...
