I am going to be purchasing a 2020 MBA for my daughter for college, but I don't see any cases specifically for the 2020 MBA. Will a 2018-2019 MBA case fit a 2020 MBA? I've read some places that they will and some places said no.

It depends on how much of an exact fit you desire.
Many pre-2020 cases will fit. There are no concerns for the display portion.
For the body, the sides may not clip on fully, but that's not a problem as the cases will stay on. Some cases cover the rear corners (hinge side) of the MacBook Air. Those cases don't fit and you'll need to clip off those corners. Well-designed cases don't cover the rear corners in the first place as they interfere with the opening of the display past 90 degrees.
