For those of us who can wait, or want to avoid crowds, in your experience does iPhone build quality improve as production moves beyond launch day? Has it been your experience you have less problems with your iPhone device if you wait several weeks vs. purchasing the initial allotment? Or does it not matter.

I got my 5 pretty early on with no issues around build quality.

Won't make a difference.

Apple has already had a full year to get down the quality control aspect on the aluminum bodied iPhone 5.

I agree that Apple has solved the problems with the aluminum body. However, we don't know if there will be other new problems. For all we know, there could be issues initially with the new touch sensor. There are always some issues with the initial allotment, but even then, less than 10%.

Yup, and the resulting fix was 'Space Grey.'

Unless something catastrophic is found, don't expect any changes/ improvements to the build quality.

This. Apple fixed the alleged issue by using a lighter coat where scuffs are less visible.
