I'm thinking of buying one coz.. well 1) it is now "outdated"
2) educational discount
3) ex demo

1+2+3 = around $600 saving!

What im afraid of that it will royally screw itself.

What do you guys reckon?

$1,350 for a refurb out of the Apple online store = full warranty on a product that has been checked by Apple and the same amount of savings.

Very true...

only problem with that is i'm not guarenteed a matte screen (which i would really prefer)

and the main question is... apple might check it... but was it only ones sold early in the year that had the nvidia problem?

I would never ever consider a demo laptop. Maybe a desktop, but you are asking for trouble with a laptop. You have no idea how its been mistreated, kids that spilt crap on it, put their grimy, unwashed bathroom hands all over it. No thanks.

Check out Amazon. They are practically giving away the previous models. I think I saw some good deals at MacConnection too and these were all NEW models.

Nah unfortunately not at the australian store

it says you may get either.

oh well its ordered... i can deal with glossy i'll just hope for the best.
