Will a 5.1 (Beta) work with a 12.0GR phone?

I updated my X to 12.1 (beta) and it works fine with my S4 running 5.1 and when it was running 5.0.

I wasn't planning on selling my S2, but I think i may give it to a friend. Problem is she is running IOS12 (GR)

Any thoughts on if the 5.1 watch will work with 12.0GR?

Not a major issue, she's in no hurry for the watch, she could wait for the GR release of 5.1
