will my old 2019 MacBook Pro 15” power brick fast charge the MacBook Pro 14”? Ie will mag safe plug into old more powerful chargers?

I too would like to know if this is possible. It would be nice to know the min spec charger that will allow for fast charing. We may have to just wait and see.

Most likely not. While close in power fast charging usually requires chargers to support specific voltage outputs, its very likely the 87W charger does not output at the right voltage for the computer to go into fast charge.

The 14" can fast charge through USB-C and not MagSafe however so it is a possibility. Have to wait until like *kart says we know the minimum specs for the fast charging. Might fast charge at 80w idle but require 96w to power if the computers under full load. We just don't know.

Has anyone been able to test the min size charger to get fast charge happening on the 14"?
I'd like to know if my existing power brick (87w) and also if a 90w charger will allow fast charge, of does it have to be the 96w?

Anyone know if it just the bricks wattage that matters? i.e. if I buy a 100W Aukey PD charger, will that fast charge the MBP? Or it HAS to be an Apple charger?

Can't 100% confirm but should be OK. It shouldn't apply to Apple only chargers. If it is 97w+ and PD, you should be fine.

Is there any app that can show the charging speeds for the new MPBs? I have a couple of 100W chargers from kickstarter projects and I'd like to know if they're fast charging my 14-inch.

System Information -> Power should do it.
Thanks- that's exactly what I was looking for. Currently connected to an older MBP adapter and getting this:

AC Charger Information:
Connected: Yes
ID: 0x1655
Wattage (W): 60
Family: 0xe000400a
Serial Number: C4H64740896GN8RAU
Name: 61W USB-C Power Adapter
Manufacturer: Apple Inc.
Hardware Version: 1.0
Firmware Version: 1090011
Charging: Yes

Let us know what you get when you connect with other chargers. Would be helpful to know about compatibility with non-Apple chargers.

I bought an 87W Apple USB-C charger, I got 50% charge in exactly 30 minutes. 2% to 52% whilst the computer was in use, M1 Pro 14". Not under "full load".
