Will my already paid off and unlocked AT&T iPhone 7 plus, work with a Verizon sim?

Also, if I give the IMEI number to the potential buyer for them to check with Verizon if it will work or not, can they do anything with that number to lock, blacklist, etc the phone?

OR..... if I call Verizon myself (not a customer of theirs) and ask them, will they tell me if that IMEI will work?

If your phone is financed through AT&T (ATT Next?) and once it's paid off, you will need to request an unlock from AT&T and once that is approved then it will work with Verizon Sim card.

AT&T model *may* work with Verizon but only on LTE. So if the potential buyer is in an area where there is no LTE, it won't work. Since AT&T Model uses Intel which is incompatible with CDMA networks.

Probably safer if you do this by going here: https://www.verizonwireless.com/prospect/bring-your-own-device/#/

It's been paid off and unlocked.

I'm just seeing conflicting information as to whether or not and unlocked AT&T phone will work on the Verizon network or not.

I don't want to waste my time driving to meet the potential buyer only to find out my unlocked phone won't work with a Verizon sim.....

I just edited my other post but I'll clarify it here. The AT&T Model *May* work with on Verizon Network but only on areas where there is LTE. (I've heard with iphone 8 and X that T-mobile/AT&T works on VErizon network but only on LTE). IF the potential buyer steps out of the LTE area and has to drop down to CDMA, then it will not connect until the buyer gets back on the LTE area, since AT&T model uses the Intel modem, which doesn't have CDMA.

The link you gave me says the phone isn't compatible.

But what i'm getting from what you wrote is that if she puts her sim card in my phone and it's and LTE area, the phone will work....

I'm not familiar with Verizon's towers around here... so i'm not sure if there are CDMA areas....

I guess the ethical thing for me to do is not sell her the phone whether her card works or not...???

Also if you bought your iPhone from Apple (world phone unlocked) it will work on both AT&T and Verizon. Unlocked world iPhones are compatible with GSM and CDMA networks.

I bought it from apple as an AT&T phone. after I paid it off, I got it carrier unlocked.

This. And phones from Target, Best Buy are world phones that become carrier locked at activation.

Probably best, as it could come back to haunt you when the buyer gets out of the city and their phone goes off the grid.

Take it to a Verizon store so they can check compatibility. If it is not compatible it is better to find out before you try to change carriers.

Out of curiosity how much were you selling it for?
