I have 2010 and 2012 Mac Pros with Quadro K5000 cards.
I am looking at the Dell UP3214Q Monitors that do UHD (3840x2160) at 60Hz. Unfortunately they use MST or Multi-Stream Transport to achieve 60Hz.

I cannot verify in looking whether 10.10.x will enable the MST functionality of the Quadro K5000 so that I can use these monitors at UHD 60Hz.

Has anyone tested? Specifically I am interested in results from people who have upgraded their video cards in either 2010 or 2012 mac pros.

I am aware that late 2013 Retina 15" and Late 2013 Mac Pros support MST so I do not need to hear about that. I am also aware that the stock video cards that came in the 2010 and 2012 Mac Pros do not work.

As an added bonus, do you know if this also works in Bootcamp to Win 7 or Win 8 or Ubuntu?

Thanks for your help and focusing on the specific questions :)

I have a thread on this.

Search in this forum for something with "1984" in the title.

Until Apple stops the BS, you'll have to do that.

But first see if anyone else has had luck. I've heard from many unhappy Dell 4K folks.
