Hi,

I am a first time Mac user who has only had a Mac for about a week. I am getting everything set up at present and learning my way around.

I have the trial version of Parallels installed and would like to buy the full product. I understand there is a new version of the Mac OS releasing in a few weeks.

Is it likely that shortly after the new OS is released that Parallels will release a new version, that would require me to pay for an upgrade if I buy the current version? If so, it seems sensible to wait a few weeks and buy the new version when it drops. However, if that's not how their release cycles work, I may as well buy now.

Hope that makes sense.

Version 6 and 7 were both released in September. Previous versions released were around November and January.

So I highly doubt they'll release version 8 in July but it's possible to have a August release if they get ahead of themselves. If possible I'd wait the two months so you're not paying full price then upgrading 2 months later.

Though you can get Parallels 7 full for $50, which is the upgrade cost from parallels website.
