Will a third party screen replacement effect water resistance?

hello,

my mom cracked her s5 screen yesterday after the Watch fell on the ground. shes getting the screen replaced. it’s not officially by apple. Would this make the Watch unusable for swimming, etc?

Apple Watch screens cannot be replaced. If you go through Apple, they replace the whole device. Any third party saying they can replace the screen is lying, or will ruin the integrity of the device.

If they clean and replace all adhesive seals thoroughly it should be ok. The problem is that they won't guarantee water resistance because most 3rd party repair services will say Apple can't even guarantee water resistance.. Your mom won't know until it's actually is exposed the water

thanks for your replies, very helpful. just as an update, she did get it replaced and was told not to use for swimming. it's not the end of the world but it's good to know.
