Will a Unlocked iP6 from apple.com work on Verizon?

I have verizon, using a old backup droid till the 6 drops. I'll be paying retail for it, if I buy the unlocked/tmobile version will it work on Verizon's network? This droid I'm using doesn't have a SIM card........confused: how does this process work exactly?

Doubtful but won't know for sure until specific carrier models announced...

Usually you need a Verizon model for it to work on Verizon.

I like to think of the vzw iphone as the universal blood type o-.

The vzw iphone works on most all carriers, but you need the o- (vzw iphone) to work on vzw's network.

Prolly a bad example but it's how I keep it straight.

You will need to buy the verizon model.
Any other unlocked Tmobile or AT&T version will not work or be able to be activated on verizon.

OP, the silver lining to this is that the Verizon iPhones (5 series and above) come unlocked. So, you'll get an unlocked iPhone anyway - it will just be the Verizon model.

You would need the Verizon model for it to work on Verizon. The unlocked version doesn't work on Verizon. The benefit of the Verizon model it's truly unlocked so it can work on all carriers. Best bet is to get the Verizon model.

All carriers besides Sprint, its prepaid MVMO's or other smaller regional CDMA carriers.
But it will work with all GSM carriers in the world and Verizon in the US.

The Verizon version can work on all carriers, but not vice versa.

The Verizon version technically comes unlocked anyway.
