Hi everybody,

I'm about to buy a smartphone and kind of liked my ipod touch so I was wondering ok let's go for an iphone.

A friend of mine told me that the 4S would do what i expect from it (fast reaction, nice screen, browse the web, act like a modem for my macbook air sometimes, play music, be my agenda, of course nice call quality ...) but since the 4g and nfc is coming i still find the 4S a bit outdated, although 400e is in my price range.

I was thinking about the 5C but too expensive for me. THe idea I had inmind was to ask my father in law to buy it in thailand since they go there soon and it is sold 450e. However i have some doubts that it will work here in belgium.

Moreover, a friend of mine told me about an imei lock per country.

But I know that some people travelled from usa to uk and still can use their phone, and some store say "unlocked"
Does it mean we can buy it and travel in other country and use it ?
Does the phone itself work everywhere ?

Thanks in advance for enlighting me :)

If it is unlocked, it will works.
Thai model is not exactly the same they sell here in Europe, but it supports the same LTE bands (3, 7, 20).
