Hi,

I'd like to buy a portable monitor to go with my Mac Studio M1 Ultra. There are a new crop of 16" OLED monitors that are relatively affordable, have pretty accurate P3 Wide colour and run at 120Hz.

The 4K OLED 120Hz models are very expensive and I know my machine wouldn't support 4K 120Hz.

Would the M1 Mac Studios support 3K (2880x1800) @ 120Hz (via either HDMI or USB-C) or would it be limited to 60Hz?

Cheers

My M1 MacBook Air can push my ultrawide screen, which is 3440x1440, at 175hz over USB-C. 120hz at the resolution you require should be doable given the amount of bandwidth available, but probably not via HDMI as the M1 only has HDMI 2.0.
