HI ALL! Question here:

My early 2009 imac's hard drive has stopped working, applecare has expired and so it is time to replace it. I am wondering: will it work with a hybrid hdd/ssd hard drive? I'm looking at this here:

http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Momen...&keywords=internal+hard+drive+for+imac+hybrid

The current os is 10.8.4 (or whatever is latest) running off the external/time machine that i've partitioned to hold me over, so if i were to reinstall on that, would it automatically configure itself or are there other limitations on this old mac?

I have had this same question. Along these same lines will this HD work on a late 2007 20"Aluminum imac? Mine HD is probably not too long for this world and I need some more space and would like to do my own Fusion type drive.

Does anyone know if this will work on my old machine also?

Thumbs up to the OP estockme for a great question!!
