Will an unlock programme allow upgrade to OS4 and maintain the unlock

Looking for some expertise please!

I'm new to iphones and technical stuff. I have an iphone locked to AT&T which I am getting unlocked. It is currently running 3.1.3. Once unlocked I plan to use my 3 sim card.

My question is, will I be able to sync with itunes and also will I be able to upgrade to OS4 and still use my 3 sim card?

Any assistance will be gratefully received.
