If I buy an unlocked iPhone 6 Plus at a Canadian Apple Store, will it work with U.S. Carriers?

Yes.

Your best bet would be Straight Talk. It's $45 USD, no contract. You just put in a nano SIM and activate. Unlimited talk and text and 3 GB data. Straight Talk resell ATT bandwidth, so you've got good coverage (do some research relating to coverage in your US area.)

PS: provided your iPhone 6 is truly unlocked. Whatever you choose, don't choose Sprint. Verizon will only work if you have a VZ unlocked model, and even then VZ is persnickety.

Hey thanks!

That sounds like a great service.

Would an unlocked iPhone from Canada also work on ATT?

yes

but it will cost more.

Real question is, why ATT over ST? It's the same bandwidth.

Why buy in Canada if you have an option to buy in the US. You will pay 13 percent tax on the phone in Canada. Purchase tax in US is much lower.

Verizon and Sprint will not activate your phone on their networks.

A way around that on Verizon is to insert a SIM from a phone that has already been activated, but Sprint won't allow activation period.
