Will an upgrade to Catalina erase my iTunes iPhone backup?

If I decide to upgrade to Catalina, will doing so erase my current iPhone iTunes backup as well as it’s password and encryption?

You could copy or move it elsewhere just in case. However, I would bet the Finder will recognize it now problem, in its normal folder.
