Will any USB extender work for the Apple Mighty Mouse?

also, to add when I bought the Apple aluminum keyboard, it came with a special USB extender that can only be used with this product. That's why I ask.
Yes, you can use any USB extender. Or, be like most people and plug it into the keyboard (it has a hub, and has power, that is why it has a special modification of the USB port, so the extender will only work with it.

I plug my Mighty Mouse into my keyboard and then have a generic USB extender (I got it from Best Buy) going from my keyboard to my iMac. I had to do that because I have my keyboard/mouse on a pull-out-drawer under my desk and the cable was too short.
