Hi everyone,

I bought a iPad Mini A17 last year and honestly, I haven't used it much (maybe 3-4 times) and those were just for road trips or flights. I did have it listed on my local Facebook Marketplace but the guy was sketchy. So I plan to go to my local Apple Store and trade it in for credit/ gift card to use towards my iPhone 17 Pro Max pre order. I went on Apple's website and put the serial number in and it gave me a trade in value. However, when Google also said that Apple doesn't take newer ipad's as trades until a newer model is announced. So I am confused and wondered if anyone knew if the Apple store would take the trade before I went there this evening after work.

Sometimes it takes months but after that they will accept new iPads. The A17 Pro mini has been out for almost a year, so they most likely accept trade-ins by now. If the serial number works with Apple's tool, they probably will accept it.

If by Google you mean the AI overview at the top of the search, don't believe what it says. It is not reliable. It told me "Oreo spelled backwards is still Oreo" and that "1995 was not 30 years ago".
