Will Apple address/update graphics card selection in the i5/i7's?

Seems a lot of people would like the choice when to run in Integrated or Discrete mode.

Do you think Apple will address this and allow it in a future update?

"If" they did, and you could run in Integrated mode as you wished would this give an increase in battery life and allow the machine to run cooler ?

Thankfully in the meantime there's third party software.

I doubt it. Apple could've made it so already but they want to keep things simple and thus use auto-switching. And is there need for it if there is good 3rd party app doing the same? Apple could make Magic Mouse better but BTT is already doing it so why to spend money on it?

well.. i'm fine with intel HD... at least it doesn't make my mac hot.. plus i'm not a graphics pro and stuff..!

This is ironic. When the mid 2009 machines came out, everyone wanted it to be automated switching; they did not want to control it themselves (albeit the mid-2009 machines do not do it on the fly, you have to log out). Now it is automated and people want control to select which card to use.

Yeah, it's actually annoying. I would rather them just update the the efficiency of it.
