My mother purchased a series 3 Apple Watch before she left for a trip, series 4 was announced last week and I was wondering if Apple will allow my mother to exchange her series 3 Apple Watch (purchased 3-4 weeks ago) and replace it with a series 4?

Thanks

I doubt it. Return period is 14 days.

It’s worth asking at a store. I was able to return an iPad Pro 9.7 that was 3 weeks old for the iPad Pro 10.5 that was just released back then. Store employee just ran it by the store manager for his approval.

It Really depends on the store. Every Apple store is different with discretion, if you plan on doing something like this, then you should really ask for the store manager, as they may or may not approve of this.

They’re usually really flexible in situations like this! I would recommend returning it ASAP, even if you can’t get the series 4 immediately. They’re pretty understanding.

Should be fine. Apple Stores and their employees wants every customer happy and they usually understand the circumstances in matters like these.
GL and let us know how it went.

Thanks guys, my mother ended up going to the Apple Store yesterday and she did managed to get it ‘exchanged’! I also learned she had the watch for 7 weeks.

And when I mean ‘exchanged’ they just returned it because they had none in stock for the series 4 and just gave her Apple Store gift card.

I had some Apple pencils that I did not use for several months. They discharged and died - would not accept a charge. The small batteries are not as robust. Anyway, my point to the store manager was Apple never mentioned a shelf life or gave any warning about what would happen. He agreed and replaced all the pencils. So they do have some discretion.
