Will Apple allow integration with other chat apps?

Will Apple allow other chat apps to work on the Apple watch? Apps like kakao, whatsapp, line, etc.

If those parties develop the apps, will Apple give it the same functionality it does with iMessage?

Also, during the keynote Kevin Lynch's demo of the watch included a WeChat notification with built in replies (and stickers too!), so I think they'll embrace any other messaging platform too.
