Will Apple announce a new Macbook soon?

Hello,

On the buyersguide it says to hold out as they should announce something soon.

Is that really a valid opinion? Would Apple release a new macbook without an event or do we have to wait until a new events announced for it?

I'm on the edge of my seat at buying a Macbook, but I don't want to buy one today and then next week the new line up to come out.

What would you do?
