I have a small scratch on my SB SS S4 that I can really only see under a certain angle when outside. It is a scratch and I can feel it with my fingernails, its within the circle in the photo. My Apple Care is expiring on 9/24, have not used any incidents - will they cover this? Never used AC on any of my other Apple products.
any insights from you guys would be appreciated.

I have not used AC on my Watch but have used on a iPhone and a iPad. It does not cover normal wear item like that (minor scratch).

They will cover major damage. Ie broken screens major damage to the device water damage, etc.

You can try but the odds of them replacing a watch because of a minor scratch like that is low :)

I may be wrong but, that looks like a scratch of the oleophobic coating. Even if it isn’t, if you send it in, it won’t be covered under the normal 1 year Apple warranty. If you halve AC+, they may show some mercy and charge you the screen replacement deductible. Worst case scenario is they send it back to you untouched, because they consider it normal wear.

Thanks for your response, I will contact them and see what's t happens.
I don't think its the oleophobic coating, I've been showering with my watch on for almost 2 years and doubt any of the coating is left but I could be wrong

It’s definitely not on the Oleophobic coating. I would ask yourself this, is it even worth your time given it is a scratch, especially being you can feel it with your fingernail. At this point, the factory coating is already worn off, what you have is beyond superficial damage, and I would personally just leave it ‘As is’, especially being it’s a Series 4.

Yea, I get what you’re saying, and I’ve had this scratch for at least 6 months... my thinking is:
. It’s unlikely that I’ll be getting a S6 based on current rumors
. My AC+ is expiring 9/24 - IF I can use an incident, I’ll get a flawless S4 for $79 and be good for maybe another 2 years. If not, the S4 will be good for at least another year.
I will contact AC+ tomorrow and see what they have to say
