I purchased a 15” 2012 rMBP in 2012 in the UK. In 2017 I went into an Apple Store to replace the battery. This was back when they had problems with supply and they offered me a free battery replacement if I was willing to wait, or pay for the battery replacement (£200 or however much it was) and they would give me a new 2017 rMBP straight away. I opted to pay because it seemed like too good a deal to pass up.

Skip to today and I’m starting to have intermittent problems with a sticky ‘s’ key. I’m now based in New Zealand which doesn’t have any Apple Stores, only AASP.

Will an AASP from a different country than I bought the laptop in honour the Keyboard Service Program? Where do I stand considering I originally purchased my laptop in 2012, will I be covered under the Program? Although I did pay a sum of money in 2017. Also the keyboard layout is different in the UK vs NZ.

They can order in whatever keyboard language necessary, it will be replaced with what it has, regardless of where repaired.
