Will apple help me with my DVD drive?

Hi everyone,

So my superdrive on my old mbp no longer reads DVDs and I still have applecare. However, my keyboard's backlight no longer lights up due to water damage. Will apple still fix my DVD drive despite my keyboard's damaged backlight?
