All iPads Will Apple let me exchange an iPad mini w.r.d. for an iPad Air?

I ordered it on the Apple online store on Nov. 19, and can't return it because I had used a coupon. It's been more than 14 days since I ordered it, but fewer since I received it, and furthermore I seem to remember hearing from several members here that Apple is allowing returns until Jan. 7, at least in some cases? If I went into a retail store and asked to exchange, would they permit it?

I just chatted with Apple on the site 15 mins ago and asked the same question. They stated you can go into your local apple store and return/exchange the device up until Jan 7th for orders placed Nov 1st to Dec 25th.
