Carrier Will Apple or carriers give better promotions down the road than now?

I know AT&T has a nice deal but I dont like them much. What about other companies? Did they have great promotions some time after launch,? I'm looking for a way to buy the iPhone 12 mini retail and do a trade in to lower the cost or can I do that now? Thanks

In the second half of the year, Verizon was doing $1000 of an iPhone 11 Pro with a new line and a trade in of any phone as old as an iPhone 6(!). So depending on how long you’re willing to wait, yes, there will probably be better deals.
